A Network Plot in Stata
A network plot is where a set of points is plotted and lines connect between some points to show strong connections between points. These are especially useful in social network analysis.
To create a netplot in Stata you first need to download the netplot command from the SSC, which you do in Stata using the following command:
This plot uses randomly generated numbers to illustrate how a network plot might appear. To get the same plot as we have drawn above you will first need to set the random seed. By setting the seed Stata guarantees reproducibility for "random" events such as creating a random number variable.
