This blog post is a set of instructions to install Stat/Transfer onto a Windows computer.
The attached PDF shows the steps to install for Stat/Transfer version 13, however, the steps are the same for Stat/Transfer 15.
Step 1: Download
Download the trial version of Stat/Transfer by visiting https://www.surveydesign.com.au/transfer/try.html
Choose the version that you need (ie: Windows, Linux, MacOS or Unix). As we are installing Windows in this case, choose either 32-bit or 64-bit.
Step 2: Run the installer stdemo.exe
This will install Stat/Transfer onto your computer. Please note that you will need administrator rights to do this.
Step 3: Answer installation questions
During the install you will be asked a series of questions:
a) Do you agree with the software licence agreement - if you do not, please do not proceed with installing.
b) Install location - we recommend c:\Program Files (the default location).
c) The components you wish to install. Again we recommend the default.
Step 4: Run Stat/Transfer as administrator
Step 5: Enter your licence details
When Stat/Transfer is open, navigate to the "About" tab. It will look like this:
Step 6: Enter your activation code:
If you purchased Stat/Transfer from Survey Design we will send you a 16 character licence code. Enter the 16 characters into the activation screen.
Step 7: User details
Enter your name and organisation details. You will also be asked to enter a user email address and a password. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. Should you need to install Stat/Transfer onto another computer at another time you will need access to this email address and know the password.
Step 8: Click on OK and restart
When you enter the activation codes, Stat/Transfer will validate the codes via the internet. It will then confirm that you have successfully installed Stat/Transfer (if the codes were correct). Click on OK to restart Stat/Transfer.
If you have any problems installing Stat/Transfer please do not hesitate to contact SDAS on 02 6247 0177 or firstname.lastname@example.org
